Did you know that most Europeans would prefer to go to an art gallery on Sunday rather than Church?
Art, in various forms, touches a person at a subconscious level, which allows that person to be open to spiritual input. Beauty, creativity, something profound or obscure... all of these things contribute to reflecting the beauty and creativity of God.
In southern Germany, a group called "Crescendo Arts" has purchased an old tile factory. Their vision is to convert it into a Christian art center in order to reach the community, which is very centered on the arts. Artists from all over Europe will have a place to come to learn about Christ and how He wants to be the center of their life and art. Crescendo Arts also hopes to use some of the space to form an art gallery to show local artist's work, to have artists in residence, and to open up opportunities to the local community to learn new forms of art.
Hunter, Grayson, Mom and I, along with six other team members from New Life Church are leaving on Saturday, July 14th, to spend two weeks in Kandern, Germany... we have been given the opportunity to be on the pioneering side of this project by helping with the renovations at the "art factory". We will be spending a total of ten days in Kandern, living and working at the art factory, fixing up, renovating, refurbishing and all around making-to-function areas of the facility.

Our purpose, in all that we do, should be to further the magnificent glory of God. That purpose will be impossible to achieve apart from prayer. As we have approached the departure date, I have come to realize, even more fully, the essential nature of prayer in missions in achieving that goal. When missions moves forward by prayer, it magnifies the awesome power of God... but when we attempt to move forward by way of human means, it magnifies man.
So, I would plead, brothers, that you would pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored (2 Thess. 3:1). Also, that God would open to us doors to share the Word (Col. 4:3). Pray that the Lord would bind our hearts with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (Gal. 5:22-23)... so that we can be a unified tool in the hand of the Lord...
